What Is Marula Oil?
Marula oil is a type of olive oil. Olive oil contains mostly monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs). These MUFAs are very good for your health because they reduce cholesterol levels and protect against heart disease. They have been proven to prevent cancer, lower blood pressure, improve skin condition, and so much more. However, there is one problem with these fats: they’re not easy to digest! Because of their high saturated fat content, it’s difficult for them to pass through the digestive system.
In order to make it easier for us to absorb these fats, manufacturers add a small amount of mono-unsaturated oils such as those found in coconut oil or sunflower seed oil. Unfortunately, these oils contain even higher amounts of trans fats than regular vegetable oils like olive oil. Trans fats cause inflammation in our bodies, which leads to many health problems.
Studies show that consuming too much PUFA increases the risk of developing coronary artery disease, diabetes, obesity and other diseases.
The reason why marula oil is so popular is its low saturated fat content. Most brands of olive oil contain up to 20% Saturated Fat, while marula oil only contains 0.5%.
This means that marula oil has a much higher amount of good cholesterol and can stabilize your blood sugar. Since it only contains half the amount of saturated fat found in olive oil, it’s very easy to digest, making it a good choice for people who suffer from digestive issues.
People also use marula oil in their cooking and baking. It can be used in place of almost any other liquid oil and maintains most of the flavor. It can also be used as a butter substitute in most recipes.
One major benefit of using marula oil over other types of oil is its long shelf life. While other oils become rancid after a few months, marula oil will stay good for a year if left unopened and several months after opening. This means that you won’t have to worry about it going bad in your cabinets.
What are the benefits of marula oil?
As we’ve mentioned, marula oil has a lot of benefits. It’s good for your heart, it’s high in nutrients, and it tastes delicious. Most importantly, it’s very safe for your body and won’t cause any negative side effects.
Prevents against cardiovascular disease
Normalizes blood sugar levels
Reduces risk of cancer
Lowers asthma symptoms
How should you use marula oil?
There are several different ways that you can use marula oil. It all depends on your preference and what you want to use it for. You can just cook with it like you would any other type of oil, or you can also use it on your skin as well.
Drinking it: You can drink marula oil straight from the bottle or mixed with another type of beverage since its liquid form isn’t very appetizing on its own. Generally, drinking 1 tablespoon of oil a day is good for your health, but you can drink more if you want.
Add it to your food: You can add marula oil to any type of food just like you would vegetable oil or olive oil. Most people use marula oil in their cooking and baking since it has a much richer and more robust flavor than other oils.
Use it on your skin: Marula oil is really good for your skin. You can either apply it directly, or you can mix it with aloe vera to soothe and moisturize your skin.
As you can see, there are many different ways to use marula oil. You can either use it as a supplement to improve your overall health, or you can use it as an ingredient for cooking and baking. No matter what you choose to do with it, you won’t be disappointed.
