Avocado Oil For Hair Growth:
The benefits of using avocado oil for hair are numerous. They include:
1) Avocado oil has anti-inflammatory properties which helps reduce dandruff, scalp itchiness and other symptoms associated with dry or damaged scalps.
It also prevents dandruff from developing in the first place. It’s moisturizing properties help prevent hair loss due to dryness and shrinkage caused by heat damage.
2) Avocado oil has anti-bacterial properties which helps prevent bacteria buildup on your scalp and scalp follicles.
It also reduces itching and redness of the scalp when it comes to eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, acne or any other condition where you have sensitive skin.
3) Avocado oil contains antioxidants which help protect against free radical damage to cells in the body.
Free radicals cause cell death. This causes the deterioration of healthy cells and leads to aging. These free radicals are responsible for causing wrinkles, age spots, cancerous growths and many other diseases.
4) Avocado oil contains vitamins A, E and K which help promote hair growth.
Vitamin C helps prevent sunburn. It also contains vitamin B6 which aids in blood clotting and promotes wound healing. It also contains potassium which helps regulate fluid balance in the body and stimulates nerve endings throughout the body.
This helps increase the rate of healing for your entire body.
5) It is very easy to find, obtain and use.
You can find it in most health food stores or online. You can easily add it to your diet by eating avocados or avocado oil. You can also use it on your hair as an all-natural conditioner.
6) It’s very cheap and affordable.
You can find a good quality bottle for about $10-12. Even if you have to pay $20, it will still be cheaper than most high-end branded conditioners. Some people consider it an investment because it lasts so long and helps your hair grow faster and stronger than before.
7) It has no major side effects or risk of allergic reactions.
You can use it as much as you want without having to worry about additives, preservatives, chemicals or toxins.
8) It’s 100% safe to use as often as you want.
It is made of only natural ingredients which are good for your skin and scalp.
How to make avocado oil for hair:
You will need the following ingredients:
1 ripe avocado
A strainer (sifter)
A mixing bowl
2-3 cups of any carrier oil, I like to use sweet almond oil or coconut oil best. Olive oil will do just fine, too.
That’s it. Now just follow these instructions:
Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit and scoop the good stuff into a mixing bowl. Add 2 cups of your chosen carrier oil to the bowl and mash everything together with a fork. You can use a blender or an electric mixer, but you don’t have to.
Sometimes I just use a fork because it’s all I have at the time and it still turns out fine.
After mashing everything together for a minute or two, place a strainer over the mixing bowl and carefully spoon or scrape the mushy avocado into it. Slowly pour the oil into the strainer to catch any chunks of avocado that may have broken off and escaped. This will take a few minutes and you will need to use a spatula or spoon to help push the mush through the strainer as you go along.
Check to see if the oil has little pieces of avocado in it. If it does, just keep filtering until most of the bigger chunks are gone.
At this point you may have some mush in the strainer. Just throw this away, you only want the filtered oil. Add your carrier oil of choice and stir.
Your avocado oil mix is ready for use! You can leave it in the bowl or store it in a sealable bottle or jar.
How to use it:
Use it just like you would any other hair conditioner. Apply to wet hair and let it sit for 3-5 minutes under a shower cap or plastic bag. Then rinse it out thoroughly.
You can also apply it to dry hair and wrap it up in a towel for an hour before showering it out. Style as usual.
Follow these tips and tricks to get the best out of this all-natural conditioner:
1) Start small.
You don’t need to use the same amount you would of a store-bought brand. Start with a smaller amount and add more as needed. It will probably lather a lot more than you’re used to because it doesn’t have any harmful chemical additives.
2) Don’t overuse it or use it too often.
While it’s very natural and doesn’t have the same chemicals as store-bought brands, it still has a lot of natural oils and butters which can be too much for some scalps. Start with using it twice a week and slowly work your way up until you reach the desired conditioning and length you want. Also, remember to stay hydrated while using this product and definitely avoid using any other hair products on the days that you use this.
3) Keep it away from heat.
Like I said, this is very concentrated. A little bit goes a long way so you don’t need to worry about using too much of it. I would recommend storing it in the fridge to keep it as fresh as possible for as long as possible.
Heat will melt natural oils into goo, so avoid leaving it in the hot sun or anywhere else that gets excessively hot.
There you have it, folks! With these tips and tricks, I’m sure you’ll be well on your way to having the healthiest, strongest, most beautiful hair you’ve ever had in your life. Thanks again for checking out my website!
Stay beautiful!
