The truth about hangovers cures: what works?

Hangovers are unpleasant experiences caused by alcohol consumption. Alcohol causes a temporary decrease in your inhibitions and increases heart rate, breathing rate, blood pressure and body temperature. These effects cause some people to experience feelings of depression or anxiety. They may feel tired all the time, have difficulty concentrating and even lose their jobs due to fatigue.

In addition, drinking too much alcohol can lead to dehydration which can lead to muscle cramps, headaches and other symptoms. Drinking too much water will not help because it will only make you thirsty again. You need to drink enough fluids before you get drunk so that your body doesn’t become dehydrated. However, if you don’t drink enough fluids then your body won’t absorb them properly from the drinks you consume. If you continue to drink too much, your body will start losing its ability to regulate itself.

Your organs will begin shutting down one after another until you die.

It’s a fact that many people suffer from hangovers and they usually go away within 24 hours. Some people may experience severe hangover symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache and confusion for up to several days afterwards. For these reasons it is important to know how to cure hangovers.

What causes a hangover?

It is believed that the term “hangover” refers to symptoms caused by drinking too much alcohol. The more you drink, the worse your hangover will be.

When you drink alcohol it is absorbed into your stomach where its broken down and then circulated through your blood stream. There, it can interfere with the normal functioning of your brain.

The liver can only metabolize about one “standard” drink per hour. After this amount is exceeded, the alcohol builds up in your blood. The more you drink, the longer it takes for your body to expel the alcohol.

Hangover symptoms are caused by the toxic effects of alcohol on your brain and liver. Alcohol can also dehydrate your body. It is not uncommon for a person suffering from alcohol poisoning to also suffer from dehydration. Thus, drinking too much alcohol causes dehydration which leads to a vicious cycle of increased alcohol consumption.

I will tell you the truth about hangover cures. Most over-the-counter hangover cures are expensive placebos that do little more than treat the symptoms of a hangover rather than cure it. When the liver can no longer process alcohol effectively, it causes a buildup of toxins in your body. This is what causes the symptoms of a hangover. It isn’t really understood why some people suffer more from hangovers than others do even if they drink the same amount of alcohol.

There are several theories as to why this is the case, so it’s best to avoid drinking in general if you don’t want to experience a hangover.

What does a hangover feel like?

A hangover is much like a very bad case of the flu. A severe headache and dizziness are the most common symptoms. You may feel nauseous, sick to your stomach, have diarrhea or just be painfully thirsty. It’s not uncommon for people to vomit. Your skin may look pale and feel clammy.

You may also suffer from mental fogginess, irritability, anxiety and depression when you have a hangover. It is not uncommon for people to have trouble focusing or concentrating when suffering from a hangover. A depressed mood may also persist for several days after the hangover itself has worn off.

Hangovers can last anywhere from 12 to 36 hours.

How can you cure a hangover?

Drink lots of water. This is the most common remedy for curing a hangover. While it won’t really cure the hangover, it will make you feel better by alleviating the dehydration. The problem with this remedy is that a common hangover symptom is feeling extremely thirsty. So, you may feel better because you are drinking more but not getting any actual hydration.

Eat some food. A lot of people get sick to their stomach when they have a hangover. Eating food with a lot of salt in it is one way to settle your stomach. Eat foods that are high in electrolytes such as potatoes, bananas and even chicken soup. Don’t eat any food that you really don’t like because you will just end up throwing the food up.

Try some over the counter hangover pills. They can help to alleviate the symptoms of a hangover but they aren’t going to cure the problem.

Get some exercise.
