Apple Cider Vinegar For Pink Eye?

If you have ever had a bad reaction after eating something like apples or grapes, then you are familiar with the symptoms of getting apple cider vinegar in your eyes. It might not seem so scary when it happens once or twice but if it continues, then it could lead to blindness. You will need to read through all the details below about how to get rid of pink eye naturally without any medical treatment.

How To Get Rid Of Pink Eye Naturally Without Any Medical Treatment?

You may think that apple cider vinegar is not really necessary for curing pink eye. However, there are some cases where it helps. If you have been suffering from pink eye for long time, then you probably already know what causes the problem. It is caused by bacteria called Candida albicans. These types of bacteria thrive in warm environment such as the nose and mouth. They multiply rapidly and cause inflammation of the tissues. The most common symptom is redness, swelling, itching and pain in the affected area.

The best way to treat these types of infections is with antibiotics. Antibiotics kill off the bacteria causing infection in the first place which makes them unable to grow anymore.

However, they do not always work well since sometimes they don’t kill off all of them completely. Also, certain strains of bacteria are resistant to certain kinds of antibiotics. This is becoming a growing concern as new strains of bacteria become immune to these drugs.

Sometimes though you don’t have enough time to wait for the drugs to start working or the symptoms are too severe for the drugs to work right away. In this case, you can try a natural way by using apple cider vinegar.

Apple cider vinegar contains acetic acid which kills off bacteria. It doesn’t work immediately though so you will need to apply it several times throughout the day.

The first thing you need to do is dilute it. Otherwise, it can damage the skin around the infected area since it is very acidic.

One part of apple cider vinegar and four parts of water should be mixed together in a cup. Use a cotton ball or cotton swab to apply it to the affected area. You can also use a spray bottle if you want to make it easier. It is important to apply this several times throughout the day at least three to four times.

Does It Help?

If you have pink eye, then you may want to try something more natural so that you don’t have to put more stress on your body. Using apple cider vinegar just might be the ticket since it is all natural and doesn’t have any side effects like antibiotics do. It does take some time though before you start to notice any changes but it could be a great substitute for over the counter eye drops and ointment.
