Reasons Why You Might Be Experiencing Pain in the Right Side of Your Groin
Reason #2: Pregnancy and Childbirth
Though this problem can affect both men and women, it is more common among women who have recently given birth. A large number of women experience pain in the area for a couple of weeks after they give birth. This condition is called postpartum perineum pain and can severely impact a woman’s quality of life.
There are a few reasons why this might happen. For one thing, there is the stretching of the perineum during childbirth. This can be quite painful and the pain can sometimes continue even after it has healed.
Another reason could be an injury to the area. This can occur if the doctor or midwife is inexperienced and does not perform the delivery properly.
There are some steps you can take to prevent this from happening or to at least make it more bearable. For one thing, you should not push with the next contraction and try to hold it back, as this can cause tears in the area and increase your chances of getting a tear. Another thing you can do is to try to keep your perineum clean after giving birth.
