Is it safe to mix Motrin and Robitussin?

Facts and Myths

Ibuprofen and robitussin are two drugs which have been used for many years in the treatment of various diseases. Both these medications work by blocking certain enzymes in your body, thus reducing inflammation or pain.

They are both very effective medicines, but they do have some differences.

The main difference between them is their strength. Ibuprofen is usually stronger than robitussin, while robitussin is usually weaker than ibuprofen.

Therefore, if you combine the two medications, you may experience side effects such as high blood pressure or heart problems. Also, there are other drugs which contain both ibuprofen and robitussin; therefore, mixing these two medications may cause dangerous reactions in some patients.

If you want to use ibuprofen and robitussin together, then it is best to start with low doses first. You can gradually increase the dose until you no longer feel any effect from the medication.

If you are taking both medications at once, then make sure that each drug does not interfere with the others’ action. For example, don’t mix aspirin and acetaminophen (Tylenol) because they will probably interact badly. You should check with your doctor first before mixing any medication.

Ibuprofen and Robitussin are two drugs which have different strengths and side effects, so whether or not it is safe to mix them depends on several factors. It is best to speak to your doctor about all your concerns before making a decision.
