Is Dairy Inflammatory?
Dairy products are often used as a way to reduce the risk of many chronic diseases. They contain high amounts of protein, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients (plant compounds) which have been shown to improve health in numerous ways. However, there is some controversy surrounding whether or not dairy products cause cancer. There are several possible reasons why this question exists. One reason could be because of the amount of milk consumed by humans. Milk contains about 20% fat, so it would take about 200 glasses of milk to equal one glass of whole milk. If you drink two glasses of milk daily, then your body will absorb all the fat from those glasses. If you drank three glasses of milk daily, then your body would only absorb about half of the fat. That means that if you consume too much fat from dairy products, then it may increase your risk of developing certain types of cancers. Another possibility is due to the fact that cows produce large quantities of bile during their lactation period. Bile helps break down fats in our bodies and prevents cholesterol buildup in our blood vessels. The problem is that bile can also have cancer-causing agents. So, it is possible that drinking too much milk may also increase the risk of developing certain types of cancer.
It is important to note that many studies have been conducted on this subject and the findings are still inconclusive. The current belief is that while milk and other dairy products do contain certain factors that can promote cancer, overall it still has many benefits when compared to the risks. Many people who avoid milk and dairy products tend to replace this food source with others that may be less nutritious and possibly even more dangerous. There is some evidence that avoiding excessive calcium intake by getting it from dairy products may increase the risk of certain types of cancers, however this has not been proven scientifically.
In addition, people who do not eat milk and other dairy products are also less likely to get sufficient amounts of vitamin D and phosphorous. It is also important to note that people who get properly treated for any sort of cancer are usually encouraged to continue normal eating habits because diet is not a major contributing factor in causing the disease.
So, is dairy inflammatory?
From the information presented here, it would seem that while there are some components of dairy that may increase your risk of certain types of cancer, overall the benefits of milk and other dairy products tend to outweigh their risks. There is still a lot of ongoing research in this area and more evidence should be available in the coming years. In any case, it is best to maintain a healthy diet that includes a wide variety of foods. Those who have any type of cancer or a family history of the disease may want to speak with their physician or nutritionist about the possibility of getting additional Vitamin D and phosphorous through specially fortified milk alternatives.

This is a very common question that many people ask, and the answer to it is not as simple as it seems. Obviously, the main ingredient in milk is calcium, which is one of the most essential nutrients that we need. However, there are also certain components in milk that can actually increase your risk of heart disease, promote obesity and raise your cholesterol levels.
Still, there are those who avoid milk and other dairy products for non-medical reasons. If you are worried about the possibility of developing allergies to milk, or if you are vegan or lactose intolerant, then it may be beneficial for you to avoid drinking milk. It should be noted that alternative sources of calcium such as orange juice with added calcium or supplements can help prevent osteoporosis.
But is milk good for you?
Well, if you are trying to gain weight or build muscle, then the answer is definitely yes. One cup of milk contains 8 grams of high quality protein and will quickly help you gain muscle. For athletes and people who engage in regular physical activity, milk is an excellent recovery beverage and the carbohydrate content in it (lactose) has been proven to promote glycogen synthesis following exercise. (Glycogen is a storage form of carbohydrate that is used by the muscles as an energy source during physical activity).
In addition, there are many people who suffer from lactose intolerance, and for them drinking milk is simply out of the question.
But what if you could consume milk without suffering from lactose intolerance or some of the other potential problems that can arise from drinking milk?
Well, it may sound too good to be true, but there is a company that has been working on creating a milk alternative that contains all of the nutrients and calories of real milk without any of the lactose or the fat. The company is called Sunobeans and they have been developing a drink called Sunocoat for quite some time. This “milk” substitute comes in the form of a white powder that can be added to water in order to create a refreshing healthy beverage.
Sunobeans has managed to create a drink that is not only healthy, but is also very appetizing. Not only does it have a great flavor, but it can also be used in the preparation of many foods. In developing countries where fresh milk is scarce and some types of malnutrition are common, this product will be a God send. In more developed countries like the United States, this product can be used as a healthy alternative to fresh milk and can be used as a substitute in recipes that call for milk.
Due to its versatility, this powder can be mixed into other foods like breakfast cereal or even mashed potatoes. It can be added to pancakes or waffles when you are having a sweet tooth. It can also be used when you are cooking an Indian meal as a substitute for yogurt or to make a lassi drink.
Sunocoat can also be used in the preparation of delicious deserts. For people who are lactose intolerant, this is a great substitute for fresh milk when making cakes, muffins, or other types of desserts. It can even be used to make homemade ice cream.
Now the big question is how does it taste?
Well, we are working on that. Sunobeans is a great source for milk substitutes that can be mixed into cereal or even used to prepare meals, but for right now it doesn’t quite taste like fresh milk. If you could imagine a mixture of peanut butter and soy sauce, then you are getting close, but not quite there.
We here at The Bull Helm are trying to work with Sunobeans in order to improve the taste of this product. The mixing process is very easy, but the taste leaves a little to be desired. We are confident that with a little more time, we can create a milk substitute that will not only be nutritious and healthy, but will also taste great.
This stuff really does taste horrible, just awful! But it’s very healthy and that’s what counts. We here at The Bull Helm have been working with it for years now…
