There are many vegan recipe blogs on the internet that will give you tons of ideas on what to eat on any given day. You can even try veganizing some of your old favorites with mixed results.
The point is to have fun and try new things. Don’t be afraid to go out and buy new ingredients either. This way, you can try something different every time you go grocery shopping.
There are also some meat and dairy alternatives that you can try. There are many products out there that act as good subsitutes for meat, milk, and other animal byproducts. You can buy these at the grocery store or even online. Some of these include:
“Meat” products: beef, chicken, pork, turkey, etc.
“Dairy” products: butter, cheese, ice cream, yogurt, etc.
“Egg” products: eggs, mayo, etc.
You can use these as subsitutes for the real thing. For instance, if you normally have scrambled eggs on your breakfast sandwich, try using tofu “eggs” instead of real ones. Or if you like mozzarella on your pizza, try some of the vegan cheese alternative brands.
Most of these products aren’t exact subsitutes for the real thing, but they’re pretty close and they still have that same flavor you know and love. Give them a try!
If all else fails, you can always check out your local co-op or natural food store. These types of places tend to have more options when it comes to specialty vegan items.
If you’re a party animal and going out to eat is your thing, you shouldn’t have all that much trouble when it comes to veganism. Most of the common fast food places have veggie burgers you can choose from. Some of the chains even have vegan options at their sit-down restaurants!
