Does Sweat Help You Burn More Calories?

The question whether or not you should sweat during your workout is one of the most common questions asked by people. There are several factors which influence your answer:


How much time have you got left in the day?

If you want to get a good workout done, then it’s best if you don’t waste any time at all while exercising.


Do you like exercising?

If yes, then you will probably enjoy doing so even more if you’re wearing clothes.


Are you a beginner?

Beginners tend to sweat less than experienced ones. They might prefer to wear shorts instead of pants. (See #4.)


What kind of exercise do you usually perform?

People who like running tend to sweat less than those who like cycling.


Is your age different from other people?

Older people sweat less than younger ones.


Do you have a medical condition?

Some conditions make perspiration difficult such as diabetes, asthma, heart disease etc. For these people, it would be better to avoid sweating altogether and focus on other ways of burning calories such as dieting or cardio workouts.


What is your gender?

Men sweat more than women.

It is important to listen to your body and check whether you’re enjoying your workout or not. If not, then find a way to make it more fun.

If you can answer YES to most of the questions above, then you should definitely wear clothes while you are exercising, as you will sweat a lot and this will dehydrate your body.
