Coping with the Comedown: Managing Adderall Crash

By the time you reach your destination, it’s already too late. You’ve been up all night, and now you’re exhausted from being awake for hours. Your eyes are still heavy, but they don’t hurt anymore. You feel like a different person than when you left home last night.

You were feeling anxious and depressed after leaving work yesterday morning, but now you’re not even thinking about that right now. You just want to get home and rest.

You walk into your house, which feels very empty compared to what you remember. There’s no one here except yourself and the TV. It’s been awhile since you had any friends over, let alone family members or significant others. You wonder if anyone really cares about what happened yesterday at work anymore…

“Hey Suzy!

How was school today?”

A voice calls out from outside your front door.

It’s your brother Ben who lives down the street. You never thought you’d see him again. When you were little, you used to play hide and seek with him every once in awhile. Nowadays though, he spends most of his free time playing video games on his computer instead.

He doesn’t even bother answering the door when he sees you arrive home from school today.

“Hey Ben! Glad you could make it to another one of my events!”

You say sarcastically. He sighs, then speaks with a bit of a grumpy tone.

“Sorry I missed your meet yesterday, but the boss at the pizza place was being a prick and didn’t give me the day off. We need to pick up the slack because someone called in sick.

Anyway, you wanna play Xbox after you take a nap or something?”

You’ve been gone for over twenty-four hours, and all he’s interested in is playing Xbox?

Something really must be wrong with him. He’s probably addicted to playing video games at this point in his life. Well, it’ll be nice to have someone to talk to for once even if it’s over a video game…

“Yeah, I think I’m just gonna turn in early though. I was up all night studying for my last exam and I’m pretty fried. See ya later Ben. Don’t stay up too late.

“Yeah. Later Suzy.
