When you’re in a relationship with someone who is narcissistic, it’s hard to leave them.
If you don’t want to be alone, why would you stay?
It’s true that some relationships are meant to last forever. But if your partner is a narcissist, chances are they won’t. They will eventually break up with you or walk away altogether.
In the meantime, you have to stay strong. Stay grounded in reality and focus on yourself. You can’t continually give all of yourself to a person who doesn’t deserve it and will never appreciate it.
It’s okay to take a break from your relationship. When two people are at different stages in life or simply want different things out of life altogether, they shouldn’t be together.
You can’t change the narcissist but you can change yourself.
When you’re with a narcissist, they will do everything in their power to keep you around. Because if they don’t, they will lose their source of supply.
The only way to get out a toxic relationship is to stay strong and believe in yourself. When you no longer allow yourself to be a victim, you take back your power and regain your sense of self.
