What are Beta Blockers?
Beta blockers are medications used to treat heart attacks, strokes, and other conditions caused by blockages in the arteries supplying blood to your heart or brain. They lower the amount of blood flowing into these areas. These drugs include: Atripla (lansoprazole), Zocor (warfarin) and Coumadin (coumadin). Beta blockers work by preventing further bleeding from the damaged vessels.
How do they Work?
They prevent the buildup of plaque and clogged arteries that cause heart attacks, strokes, and other problems. When your blood flow is restricted, it causes less oxygenated blood to reach the tissues inside your body. This reduces their ability to function properly. Beta blockers stop this reduction in blood supply from occurring.
Side Effects of Beta Blockers
There are no known side effects associated with taking beta blockers. However, some people may experience nausea, diarrhea, constipation or stomach cramps while taking them. If you have any of these symptoms when using beta blockers, consult your doctor immediately. You should not take beta blockers if you have high cholesterol levels or liver disease.
Taking beta blockers during pregnancy may lead to birth defects such as spina bifida and limb deformities like clubfoot.
Is there a natural Beta-blocker?
Aspirin may be available over the counter, but it is still a prescription drug. You would need to consult your doctor before using this medication, particularly if you have certain medical conditions or are taking other medications or other OTC drugs. Aspirin can interfere with the effectiveness of other blood thinners, such as Coumadin (warfarin), and should never be combined with them.
Research shows that natural beta-blockers foods are quite good in lowering blood pressure and protecting against heart disease. The most important thing to do is to avoid trans-fats, such as those found in fast food and some packaged baked goods. Eating small, regular meals can also help you maintain healthy blood sugar levels and healthy cholesterol. Eating too much food with a high-glycemic index, such as white bread and potatoes, can increase your risk of heart disease by raising your triglyceride levels.
Can magnesium be a natural beta-blocker?

If you are deficient in magnesium and don’t take steps to correct it, then your body will not be able to properly regulate your heartbeat. Especially when you are under stress or your body undergoes physical activity.
