There are many reasons why bananas might not be the best choice for weight loss. However, there are some things that you need to keep in mind when choosing your next banana snack.

1) They’re high in calories.

A medium sized one contains over 200 calories (and counting). That’s almost twice as much as a slice of bread!

2) They’re high in sugar.

One medium banana contains about 17 grams of carbohydrates. That’s nearly 3/4 cup of sugar! And that doesn’t even include the fiber, which adds another 4 grams per serving.

You’d have to eat 6 bananas a day just to get half their daily value of dietary fiber!

3) They contain potassium, but only if they’ve been ripened long enough.

If they haven’t been ripe long enough, then they’re pretty much devoid of any nutritional value.

4) They contain vitamin C, but only if you buy them from a store that sells fresh fruit.

Otherwise, they don’t contain any vitamin C whatsoever. Vitamin C is especially important for those with compromised immune systems because it helps fight off infections like colds and flu.

5) They contain potassium, but only if you cook them first!

Uncooked bananas are completely devoid of any valuable nutrients. They do contain some beneficial nutrients, such as dietary fiber and manganese, but not nearly enough to make them worthwhile as a food choice.

There are many reasons why bananas might not be the best choice for weight loss, but perhaps they can be used in certain circumstances. If you’re working out excessively and need quick energy, then bananas can help you replenish some of your spent sugars. They can also help you digest food quicker.

On the other hand, bananas aren’t going to help you lose weight. So if you want to lose weight, then avoid eating them unless you work out excessively and need that extra boost in energy.

2) You’ll find these types of bananas in the grocery store, usually near the other fruits and vegetables.

3) Once you’re back home, cut the banana in half lengthwise with a knife (scissors don’t work), and then remove the skin.

4) The bananas are now ready for consumption!

How to Cook a Banana:

1) Get a large pot and fill it with water.

2) Bring the water to a full boil.

3) Once it starts boiling, add the banana and allow it to cook for 2 minutes.

4) After the 2 minutes has passed, remove the banana from the heat source and drain the water.

5) Your banana is now ready to be consumed!
