Mission Statement

The Wet Lab is the only DIYBio Citizen Science facility in San Diego. We are a community of professional scientists and average citizens who share a common interest in biology. Though our primary focus is algae research, our members are interested in many diverse areas of science.

Our mission is to educate people young and old about the stunning world of biology, making it accessible to everyone from all walks of life. We have a full wet lab with the equipment to study algae, conduct molecular biology experiments and pursue metabolic engineering.

Through our collaborative efforts, knowledge sharing, and broad participation, we intend to develop open source protocols with our global community. We are located at the Fab Lab in Makers Quarter. Come join the fun!
